520 3 _aThis paper produces the mathematical model for the prediction of surface roughness in Wire-EDM for copper alloy C22000. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) have been used as the Design of Experiment (DOE). The workpiece were cut using the Wire-EDM and then measure the surface roughness using Perthometer. By using Minitab software, two mathematical models have been produce, linear and quadratic model. Both models were comparing to find the most accurate model. From the selected parameters, on time and peak discharges current are significant to the surface roughness. By using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) the lack-of-fit P-value have been compared and the second or quadratic mathematical model were selected since it have less percent of error compare to linear model. By doing the prediction for surface roughness in Wire-EDM for copper alloy C22000 it will aid people to estimate the surface roughness for their selected parameters and avoid using try and error method.
