520 3 _aThe main objective of this study is to analyze the deflection and stress of the strengthened timber beam with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) using finite element computer modelling. There are two models of timber beam were created to do the linear analysis which are control timber beam, timber beam reinforced with CFRP rod and plate. It aims to contribute to a better understanding and modelling of CFRP-timber bond behaviour and shows the results of timber specimens strengthened with strengthening method. The result of existing experimental work are used to calibrate the models. All the procedures to do the analysis are done accordingly to assure the research objectives are achieved. The CFRP strengthened timber beam are capable of additional deflection and possess higher carrying capacity compare to control timber beam. Theoretical and experimental work having more than acceptable error because of the analysis done is linear dynamic analysis which do not have enough details for the software to accurately process.
