520	3		_aWater pollution is very common pollution in Malaysia. Water pollution is very hazardous to flora and fauna. Bera Lake is one of the natural lakes in Malaysia that the purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of coconut shell activated carbon. Significance of study is to make sure the lake quality of Bera Lake is showing significance changes from poor to good one. The physical characteristics of coconut shell activated carbon are believed to remove the contaminant in lake water efficiently. The results of this analysis will determine whether the activated carbon of coconut shell is capable to remove contaminant in Bera Lake. Water sample is collected within three weeks. Each week has two days to collect water sample. The sample is continues to be collect for three weeks. Water sample is then preserved before experimental activities are conducted. There are seven parameters that have been set for this study which is Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Dissolved Oxygen, and pH, Turbidity, Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Heavy Metal. The findings may be useful in order to enhance water quality of Bera Lake. The result and analysis is then analysed using SPSS Statistic 20 and Microsoft Excel. There are two type of statistic is used which is Descriptive and Two Way-A nova. The uses of SPSS Statistic 20 are convenient and practical to use for this study. Microsoft Excel also is used in this study as it is commonly used to identify trend and others. As a conclusion, the study has achieve their both objective and also its hypothesis. Coconut shell is proved to remove contaminant in lake water at Bera Lake as it will enhance the quality. Coconut shell based activated carbon is good to be used as a pollutant removal because it is economical and easy to be found.
