Nowadays, manufacturing companies endure a tough time adapting to the world economy, which reaches the customer’s requirement in terms of delivery speed. The automotive industry is one of the essential industries in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector. This study was conducted at the actual industry case study from automotive manufacturers in Malaysia. Company X is a wholly owned subsidiary multinational company in Pekan, Pahang, which focuses on the production of luxury cars. Note that the efficient supply chain and assembly line process in the automotive industry is crucial for streamlining production processes and optimising workflow in manufacturing automotive. The challenges and inefficiency in the production assembly line system can lead to delays and decreased productivity. These issues can result in increased operation costs, longer lead times, and compromised customer satisfaction. The actual situation challenges in the medium automotive manufacturing company is that the material handling layout design did not cater to the production productivity. Hence, the ideal situation of Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) is an application or planning or an effective strategy for the company to reduce external and internal lead time. The major challenge facing this is to produce more products using little material, little energy, little involvement of labour, and low operation cost. This requires a comprehensive analysis of the existing layout, considering factors such as the layout organisation, set-up time, retrieval processes, and minimisation of part defects. Logistic production planning requires proper planning of supply chain flow to counter unexpected situations such as crippling and delays in delivering the product to the end-users. Such a case could lead to congestion on the flow chain, leading to a longer lead time than any automotive industry organisation tries to avoid the poor arrangement of the supply chain planning toward the assembly line known as the production line. The implication of the problem requires proper planning of supply chain flow to counter unexpected situations such as crippling and delays in delivering the product to the customer. Such a case could lead to congestion on the flow chain, leading to a longer lead time than any automotive industry organisation tries to avoid. Therefore, the intention is to have a pleasant workplace environment and secure from wasted waiting time. The QRM framework resolved the lead-time problem in the supply chain at the production assembly line. This study investigates the effect of the supply chain layout on the production output at the assembly line, analyses an efficient production layout for the QRM supply chain based on simulation methods, and validates the QRM supply chain framework through the Delphi method verification. Thus, the QRM framework resolved the lead-time problem in the supply chain at the production assembly line. The activities involved in the methodology include the problem identification of supply chain activities, simulation analysis, QRM framework establishment, and validation process. The study utilised the QRM tools and simulation analysis during the investigation and later the improvement processes. Subsequently, the implementation of new frameworks QRM at the production assembly line. The final phase is the analysis of new frameworks and validation. To validate this new approach, a Delphi method was used, and experts from the industry gave feedback on the study. Finally, the QRM framework had significantly improved from the initial condition to the latest recorded result. The net overall result of the lead time reduction was 62.2%, and the assembly line production increased from 20 units per shift to 25 units per shift, a 25% increase. The QRM framework had proven to be successful, highlighting the study’s novelty.
