The effluent from plasticizer manufacturing industry contains a high quantity of pollutants that are generated from chemical additives. This effluent has negative effects on human health and the environment. The source of industrial effluents highly influences the properties, composition, and content of pollutants. The objective of this research is to remove the turbidity in the plasticizer wastewater. This research is focused on coagulation and flocculation process. Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) and polyacrylamide (PAM) were used as coagulant and flocculant, respectively. Safely treating this wastewater before being disposed to the natural water sources is essential for attaining the SDGs particularly Goal which is life below water. Via Newton’s optimization method, the optimum condition in removing turbidity was at 1.55 mL of polyarylamide dosage with a percentage removal of 20.69%. |
