Subject(s): Dissertation note: Project Paper (Bachelors of Civil Engineering) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang – 2017 Abstract: During early stage of design and construction phase, there are some potential that conflicts may arise between building components. Problem occur about clashes of Electrical elements with other elements in construction such as Architectural elements, Structural elements, Plumbing items and etc. Revise 2D drawing by using traditional method have poor visualization and make it difficult to make design changes and the changes need to be done in every views. Within the last decade, building information modelling (BIM) has emerged as a potential solution to these problems. BIM allow the designers to view the building and its contents from all angles, and revealing problems at earlier stages to allow for correction without costly change orders. Electrical BIM Services allow the developing highly precise 3D Electrical coordinated models that aid to reduce conflicts and provide better 3D visualization and walkthrough of electrical design. This research will only focusing on 3D Model updates of electrical components in MBKT Tower in Terengganu. Research method that been used in this study is extracted electrical building component information about its measurement and takeoff by using Revit Suite 2015 software. This research are basically based on the case study and all data that was collected from real construction project. By using this BIM model approach, researcher believe that it will helps construction project teams for better project coordination in the coming years.
